Charging with a contract or on demand: in Hamburg you have the choice
We want to make it as easy as possible for people in Hamburg to charge their e-vehicles. That is why we are continuously developing our charging infrastructure and, in 2015, introduced an on-demand charging option (charging via text message or app) at all our charging stations. The following contains all the information you need to find out how charging works.
Charging by text message is available at all charging stations in Hamburg that are run by Stromnetz Hamburg GmbH. All you need is a mobile phone with a contract. It is not possible to charge using prepaid sim cards or foreign mobile phone contracts*.
You are billed directly via your mobile phone contract. The exact costs are determined and charged at 0.31 €/kWh plus a Direct Pay surcharge of €2.01 (incl. VAT).
*) Please use the “E-Charging” app that can be downloaded from the App-Store (Android or iOS).
If you have any questions about billing please contact the Direct Pay service provider, msu solutions, directly.
Phone 0345 27 99 04 19 09 (Mon-Fri: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Email support@m8mit.de
The Direct Pay system can also be accessed using an app. The “E-Charging” app is available for free on Android and iOS. An integrated map shows you all the available charging stations and a navigation option makes it easy to get to the desired charging point.
You pay directly in the app by credit card. The exact costs are determined and charged at 0.31 €/kWh plus a Direct Pay surcharge of €2.01 (incl. VAT).
If you have any questions about billing please contact the Direct Pay service provider, EWE Go, directly by email at kundeninfo@ewe-go.de – you can download receipts directly in the app.
You can also charge your vehicle using an RFID charge card.
Condition: Your charge card provider must be connected to the Stromnetz Hamburg IT system. The following providers’ charge cards can currently be used at public charging stations in Hamburg:
Stromnetz Hamburg is the charging station operator and not an electricity supplier.
Each user concludes a contract with an individually selected e-mobility provider (EMP) and will be billed by this EMP.
If you have any questions about costs or receipts etc. please contact the respective provider, which will depend on the access option you have chosen:
